■ Event Introduction
The MATSUNO-MORI Cultural Presentation brings together music, fashion, and student collaboration to explore cultural dialogue between Japan and the United States.
Through artistic performance and design inspired by traditional textiles and cultural heritage, the event celebrates creative exchange across cultures and generations.
■ Special Music Performance
Remake — A Dialogue of Sensibilities
A Japanese music director and artists traveling from Japan present a special collaborative performance featuring Tsugaru shamisen, marimba, and tap dance.
Rooted in traditional repertoire and inspired by the symbolism of spring and cherry blossoms, the performance brings together artists from different musical traditions to reinterpret classical works through contemporary collaboration.
This unique performance represents a dialogue of sensibilities across time and borders.
■ Student Collaboration
Students from Samford University contribute to garment design and serve as models in the presentation.
Students from the cosmetology programs of Lawson State Community College and Bevill State Community College provide hair and makeup for the models.
■ Fashion Presentation
A cultural fashion presentation featuring garments created from historic Japanese kimono textiles and Indian sari fabrics.
This presentation represents the first international milestone of the MATSUNO-MORI Cultural Initiative.
